Univergy Solar commenced the construction of solar photovoltaic power plant “Salinetes I” (with 4.5 MW) at Novelda
Civil construction of power plant “Salinetes I” began past august and will be connected to the grid in early 2022.
Madrid, Alicante, September 21 of 2021. -Spanish/Japanese business group Univergy Solar has started the construction of a 4.5MW solar photovoltaic power plant, “Salinetes I”, in Novelda, municipality of Alicante.
This powerplant will occupy 6.5 hectares and will have 10.780 solar photovoltaic panels. The construction has already begun and it is foreseen that it will be finished and connected to the grid in four months.
Francisco Martínez Alted, mayor of Novelda, said that “the Project of “Salinetes I” implies two important milestones for Novelda: to be the first of a series of projects for the installation of lots of MW of capacity, and to fulfill the commitment of turning the municipality in a reference for renewable energy generation in Alicante and the Valencian Community”.
In addition, Jesús Candil, Industry General Manager declared that “powerplant “Salinetes I” responds to the commitment of the municipality with the promotion plans for renewable energy on to the ecologic transition”. And it congratulates Novelda for its immediate start-up.
For its part, Ignacio Blanco, Univergy Solar’s president and CEO, noted that “the commencement of power plant “Salinetes I” at Novelda translates into the consolidation of its projects portfolio at Spain, which were very expected and desired and for which the company was founded after developing successful wind and solar projects internationally”.
In this manner, Univergy Solar continues with the implementation of its strategic plan which includes, development, construction and exploitation of solar and wind projects, also including storage solutions based on green hydrogen in Spain, Europe, Asia and SouthAmerica.
