Madrid, Chinu (Colombia), 28th October 2019.– The Spanish-Japanese company Univergy International, through an agreement with its strategic collaborator Trina Solar, has been the winner for the development of the 121 MW of power photovoltaic solar energy project “El Campano”, placed in Chinu (Colombia), in a recently awarded auction.
The project “El Campano” is part of the agreement that Univergy and Trina Solar have for Colombia for 256 MW. The rest of the projects will be ready to be build next year, as well as the comercialization of the energy that will be carried out through private PPAs.
Ignacio Blanco, President and CEO of UNIVERGY Internacional, said that “with these 121 MW awarded in the auction, Univergy, along with Trina Solar, consolidate its presence in the Colombian market, expanding its projects up to 256 MW”. Univergy, shich has offices located in Barranquilla, started to develop its portfolio of projects in Colombia three years ago, a term in which its has generated photovoltaic olar projects for more than 600MW. With this award, Univergy consolidates as one of the relevant developers in the Colombian market.
